Fringe

                For this blog entry, I’m going to be talking about the TV show called Fringe. The show is created by J.J. Abrams and there are three main characters: Agent Olivia Dunham (Ana Torv), Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) and Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble). The show has made a lot of episodes already so I can’t talk about every single one. However, I will give a brief summary about what the show is about.

                The show Fringe is about Olivia, Peter and Walter who work on something called the Fringe division. This work is about things that happen that are out of this world and not possible. This is what makes the show a sci-fi show and very confusing. Olivia works for the FBI who finds out about these weird happenings and tries to contact someone who is an expert at it. Her first contact falls down to Walter who is the expert at the Fringe division. But he is kept in a mad house for talking about all the weird things that can happen but no one believes him and thinks he is crazy. Olivia needs to get him out but the only way to do it is that a family member can only take him out. She then finds out he has a son, Peter. She goes to Iraq where he is doing a business. She tries to convince him to go with her to get his father out of the mad house. At first, Peter doesn’t want to join her. One reason was because he disliked his father, and thought he was crazy. After some convincing, Peter joins Olivia and they go to the madhouse to get Walter out. He gets out of the madhouse and sets up his lab in the basement of a university and that is how it all started.

                The summary I just told was about the first episode. Hopefully with this summary, it will encourage you to watch this awesome and twisted minded TV show. If you watch Fringe, I recommend you start with the first episode, then the second, then the third etc., because if you start watching it in season 3, you won’t understand what’s going on. I hope you watch Fringe on WB channel and fox. They also show a new episode every Tuesday at 10 pm.

The walking dead

                For this blog entry, I will be talking about the new show on TV called The Walking Dead. The TV show is about the human survival against zombies (pretty much what the title says). Like this show is fairly new, I won’t have that much to talk about, but I will give a brief summary about the three episodes that have been released.

                In the first episode, the main character is a police officer which starts off with a problem; he has to stop a speeding car. His partners are helping him and they set up a traffic control site. The main officer gets shot in the shoulder and is sent to the hospital. This part of the timeline is when it gets weird. He wakes up in the hospital lying on a bed. He disconnects himself from all the cables stuck to him and tries to get up. He forces himself to walk out of the room and he sees that the hospital is abandoned. He sees a dead body in the middle of a hallway and finds a door which says dead inside, don’t enter. He finds a backdoor and leaves through it. He finds a million bags with a dead person inside each one. He keeps on walking and tries to find some kind of transportation device. He finds a bike but at the same time a zombie who is broken in half which is crawling to him. He leaves as fast as he can and goes to his home to see his wife and his son. When he gets there, the house is abandoned and gets worried so sits on the side walk in front of the house. He waits for a while and gets hit in the head by a shovel and it taken to someone’s home. He stays with a man and his son and starts to find out what is going and why there are zombies. After staying in their house for a while, they go their separate ways and the officer goes downtown which he herd was free of zombies but is wrong. When he gets there, he finds a million of zombies and gets surrounded by them. Luckily, there was a tank and gets into by the bottom of it. When he is inside, there is a radio which is working and someone is talking to him.

                In the second episode, you find out there are survivors away from the town in the middle of a forest. It then goes to the officer inside the tank which is surrounded by millions of zombies and talks into the radio to the person on the other side. The voice in the radio is telling him what is happening outside of the tank and tells the officer to make a run for it and run to an alley way. The officer makes his run and runs into the alley and finds an Asian man. The Asian leads him to safety and tells him he was the one who was helping him get out of the tank alive. They get into a tall building where the officer meets other people who are trying to survive. They have a radio which they try to communicate with anyone who is alive and find out that there is life in some woods far away from the city. They create a plan to get to the woods but they have to get a vehicle to transport everyone. They found a truck not too far away but they need a way to get there without the zombies killing them. The plan was to kill a zombie and bring him into the building. They get the zombies blood and spread it over their clothe without letting the blood touch their skin. The reason for spreading blood on their clothe was because if the zombies smell dead things, they won’t attack. If the zombies smell life, they will attack and kill. The officer and the Asian man are the ones who are suppose too get the truck and are the ones who get their clothe all full of blood. They walk out into the road and act as zombies and the plan goes perfectly, until it starts raining and the blood starts dripping away and the smell starts to go away. The zombies start to run after them and the officer and the Asian man start running for their lives. They get to the truck and get the keys to start the engine. When they are in the truck, they create another plan to get everyone in the truck safely. They get another car which makes a lot of noise to draw the zombies away from the building. The plan goes well and they get everyone into the truck and start heading towards the woods.

                The third episode isn’t so good but I will talk about it anyway. Everyone who was in the tall building get safety to the woods. The next day, a zombie gets close to where they are camping but then massacre it in the craziest way possible. A man gets to the camp and they knew who he was and they knew he has a brother. He asks for him and they tell him they left him handcuffed on top of the tall building where they were on in the last episode. The officer decides to go back and get him because he feels bad for leaving him there. Everyone thinks he is crazy and that he just got to the camp and it would be a suicide mission. The Asian man, a black man and the new man who got to the camp decide to go with the officer. They get to the tall building where they were at not too long ago safely and get onto the roof. When they get there, they find the hand of the man who was handcuffed on the floor. This shows that the man cut his hand off to escape.

                This was a big blog entry but I hope you liked the summary and see the show someday. When I finished watching the third episode, I wonder how the man who cut his hand off got off the roof (if you watch the episode you will understand). You can see this show on fox or on amc.

Dinner for Schmucks

             A movie you guys have to watch is dinner for schmucks. The movie is about a man who is involved in a secret dinner which he has to invite one person who does the stupidest things but he can’t tell them or any other person. The two main characters of this movie are Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. The overall summary of this movie is that Paul Rudd finds Steve Carell on the street one day and invites him to the special dinner he has but just tells him it is just a normal dinner with other friends. Steve Carell accepts and starts hanging out with Paul Rudd until the day of the dinner. During that time, Steve Carell starts doing all sorts of things that would annoy Paul Rudd which makes this movie so hilarious. The dinner day comes and each guest has someone who does stupid things and the stupid person has to do a demonstration. The dinner starts to go crazy and the funniest things start to happen.

                One character that is really funny in this movie is from the move ‘The Hangover’ who his name in the hangover was Alan. In dinner for shmucks he acts as a mind control man. He always says he is controlling the actor Steve Carell, which falls for it, while the friend Paul Rudd keeps telling him that he is not being controlled. I recommend this movie for all of you who like comedy and need to laugh for a while.

My view of high school up to now

Up to now, high school has been fairly different from middle school. Like I’m a freshman, everything is new to me. But there are also good parts about high school. One thing that I have liked is the laptop program. With the laptops, it makes it easier to take notes and is also easy to get the class work done if you’re doing a research paper. But having a laptop comes some responsibility. One thing you have to be aware of is that you can’t let the laptop get stolen or get broken because it is the school’s laptop and it costs around $1,600. Another rule that they made is that you can eat or drink around the laptop but I bet a lot of students do that anyways. Another thing that is tempting while using the laptops is when you get board in class, you want to talk with friends but the teacher doesn’t let you. So what some people will do is go on an online chatting sight or download a chatting program and start chatting with friends in the middle of class. But you got to admit, we teenagers always have to find a way to talk to our friends while the teacher doesn’t know.

One thing of high school that can be great at sometimes but very frustrating at others, are the teachers and the freedom that they give you. The good part about this is that they would be pressuring you with homework’s so you can feel relaxed when completing them. The bad part is that when they give you a project, they don’t actually tell you what you have to research to present, and for some students that is kind of hard because they want to know what they need to do so that they can make a check list and be on track.

Overall, high school is better than middle school, and I think I can survive with what is to come.

Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz

A book that I have been reading in my English is called Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz. Although I haven’t read the other Alex rider series, I can still say a small summary about what I have read up to now. The book up to now is about a kid called Alex Rider who falls down from space in an escape pod. He falls in the sea and gets picked by some army men. They tell him he is in the border of Australia and are trying to find out what he does. After flying in a helicopter, Alex is in a military camp and meets some teenagers in training. One night they decide to go to a beach which they say is far away. When they got to the beach, Alex and one of his military friends go into a forest to find some wood to start a fire. The friend abandons him and Alex is stuck in the woods and has to try to find his way out. While trying to escape, he gets stuck in the middle of a military practice field while bullets flying everywhere. After running for his life he climbs a fence and is out of the war zone. But then he steps on mine and then finds out that he is in a mine field. A military man who was fighting in the war zone comes and helps Alex. After Alex is saved, he finds the military teenagers and they set off back to camp.

                I think this book up to now is very good and interesting. It also has great suspense which I like a lot. Although this book is very good, I would lend it to my class mates so they see how good the book is as well as how suspenseful.

SAW VII in 3D

                For all you people out there who like intense blood and horror and want to watch a movie in October which contains both those things, then SAW 3D is the movie for you. SAW 3D is actually SAW VII which is the continuation of SAW VI. Although I haven’t known much of the movie, I have seen the trailer and this could be the best SAW of all times. While watching the trailer, my guess is that the “games” that the people are going to be playing isn’t just in a ware house with 6 people. This time, it is way more people which looks to be in a small town. This looks like it will be the most intense SAW movie ever made. The best part of this is that the movie will be in 3D, which now, in our generation, is the best way to watch movies. Not like the old 3D movies which were red and blue and the glasses were one side blue and one side red. Although this SAW movie will be awesome, it will be the last SAW movie. If you are a SAW fan, like me, this makes you feel sad. I hope the movie is very good because it will be the last SAW movie. But like everyone says: Leave the best for last.

Half of me you'll never know

           I was asked from my english teacher to make a blog about myself. Sometimes it is hard to make a blog about yourself without giving your truw identity but that is the safest thing to do. So i will give a brief descritpion about my self.

           I am a 9th grader in an international school in Venezuela. I dont like many sports but i do like to play golf and sometimes i play basketball. My favorite hobby is to make videos of my own ideas. I will sometimes take a topic that someone has made, for example a videogame, and create a new idea using that topic. I also like to play videogames especially the Play Station 3 because it has the best games on this planet. I dont really care about music but i will hear some once in a while. Especially when im in the car and have nothing to do. My favorite type of music to hear is metal because it has good rythem and you almost cant understand what the singer is saying and i think thats pretty funny. I dont laugh a lot but when something is funny to me i cant stop. I make jokes very often but its easier for me to make a joke when someone says something so then i can make a joke out of what they said. If i were to make a famous quote it would be "Friends are the greatist thing you could have and dont let anyone tell you different". One thing i dislike doing is reading because i never liked reading books. No book has ever interested me except for the Artemis Fowl series. I have been to eight different countries in the world and they are Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, Miami, California, Texas, Atlanta and Memphis. The most interesting country out of the eight that i have been to was Mexico because their culture was very different to Venezuelan culture so that was something new to me.
             Now you sort of know what i like to do and what i don't. This was my first blog so if it wasn't as good as you expected then you cant blame me. Hope you see more of my blogs that i post in the future.
